Which kid doesn't loved fried rice? But this cajun spiced rice takes it to another scrumptious level. Plus, if you fancy upping the nutritious level, you can throw in some veggies too. It's an easy meal.
What you'll need:
- 1/2 cup of rice
- 1 tsp of cajun spice mix
- Handful of frozen veggies (any your child likes)
What you need to do:
- Wash the rice a few times. Once washed and the water is clear, drain and add to a saucepan. Top with 1 cup of water, a handful of frozen veggies, and 1tsp of the cajun spice mix.
- Bring the water in the saucepan to a boil. Once boiling turn the heat down to the minimum level and cover with a lid. Set the timer for 10 minutes.
- Once the timer is done, switch the heat off, and let the cooked rice sit for a few minutes.
- Take the lid of and fluff the rice with a fork. It's now ready to serve with chicken, fish, eggs, tofu, or just by itself.
